THE FRONT PANEL:
1. Power switch is used to turn the amplifier
on and off.
2. Power light indicates the amplifier is
turned on by glowing an iridescent blue color.
3. Reverb controls the amount of reverbera-
tion applied to the signal. With the control at
the “0” position there is no reverb applied; as
the control is turned towards “10” the amount
of reverb increases accordingly.
4. Bass adjusts the output level of the low fre-
quencies and offers a cut or boost of 24dB at
50Hz.
5. Mid adjusts the output level of the middle
frequencies and offers a cut or boost of 16dB
at 800Hz.
6. Treble adjusts the output level of the high
frequencies and offers a cut or boost of 12dB
at 6kHz.
7. Gain controls the overall output level of the
amplifier. At lower volume settings the sound
will be clean. As you push the volume higher
and crank your guitar the sound becomes dis-
torted.
8. -6dB Input accepts a standard 1/4” instru-
ment plug from high output electronic instru-
ments. This input is padded 6dB to compen-
sate for higher output sources.
9. 0dB Input accepts a standard 1/4” instru-
ment plug from your electric guitar. This input
is at 0dB level.
THE REAR
PANEL:
10. Main Speaker jack: Use this jack to con-
nect the amplifier to your speaker cabinet.
Always use this jack “first” – if using a second
cabinet, connect it to the Extension Speaker
jack (#11).
11. Ext. Speaker jack: Use this jack to con-
nect the amplifier to a second speaker cabinet
– always use the Main Speaker jack (#10)
“first.”
12. Impedance switch: Use this switch to
match the amplifier to the TOTAL impedance
of your speaker cabinet(s).
13. Preamp Tube: 12AX7A / 7025 (1)
14. Power Amp Phase Splitter Tube:
12AX7A / 7025 (1)
15,16. Power Tubes: EL34 / 6CA7 (2)
Replace tubes ONLY with same types! Refer
to enclosed publication about Tubes and Tube
Amplifiers for additional information.
17: Footswitch Jack: Connect the supplied
footswitch here for control of the Reverb on/off
and a switchable 15dB of gain from 250Hz to
8kHz.
18: Power cord connects the amplifier to a
suitable source of A.C. voltage. This is a
grounded, three-wire cord and must be con-
nected to a properly grounded outlet. DO NOT
attempt to defeat the ground connection of
the power cord! If your amp was purchased
outside of the United States, see the sticker
next to the A.C. connector for its power rat-
ings. Follow the above guidelines.
Thank you for choosing Ampeg. In order to obtain the best performance from your new ampli-
fier we recommend you review the information in this owner’s guide prior to its use.
